Brandenburg-Klasse (1891)Die Brandenburg-Klasse war eine Klasse von vier Schlachtschiffen der deutschen Kaiserlichen Marine, die den Höhepunkt des deutschen Panzerschiffbaus darstellte. Entgegen der sonst üblichen Praxis der deutschen Marinetradition ist die Klasse nicht nach dem Typschiff Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm, sondern nach dem zweiten vom Stapel gelaufenen Schiff Brandenburg benannt. Die vier Schiffe liefen in den Jahren 1891 und 1892 vom Stapel. Sie entstanden noch vor dem Amtsantritt von Alfred Tirpitz als Staatssekretär des Reichsmarineamtes und bildeten den Grundstock der von ihm in den Flottengesetzen geforderten Schlachtschiffe. .. weiterlesen
