Sydney-Trichternetzspinne
Die Sydney-Trichternetzspinne ist eine Spinne aus der Familie der Atracidae. Sie ist eine von drei Arten der Gattung Atrax und kommt sowohl im Stadtgebiet als auch in der Umgebung von Sydney vor. Dort bewohnt die hygrophile (feuchtigkeitsliebende) Sydney-Trichternetzspinne bevorzugt Wälder, wobei jedoch gerade die auf der Suche nach Weibchen befindlichen Männchen gerne in Siedlungsbereiche gelangen. Bekannt ist die Sydney-Trichternetzspinne auch unter ihrem englischsprachigen Trivialnamen Sydney funnel-web spider, dessen Bedeutung mit der deutschsprachigen Trivialbezeichnung identisch ist.
