German Armed Forces Vice Admiral Bernd Heise, Chief of the Joint Support Service, addresses the participants of Exercise COMBINED ENDEAVOR 2001, during the closing ceremonies. This marks the end of Combined Endeavor 2001 in Lager Aulenbach, Germany. Sponsored by US European Command and hosted by Germany, the exercise is held annually to test and document the interoperability of dozens of countries and NATO. This is the largest communications and information systems exercise in the world, 37 countries participated this year. Location: Lager Aulenbach, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.
