Avenue of the Stars 星光大道 (5284211188)

Just like the Grauman Chinese Theatre in Hollywood immortalizes handprints of movie stars on the pavement, the Avenue of the Stars does the same. The stars are honored by their native names written in Chinese characters and Roman alphabet, with a Westernized name added if they are well known by that as well.

This handsome, talented actor and Cantopop singer, sadly, took his own life in 2003, without getting a chance to leave his handprints. He was extremely popular in the 1980s and the 1990s, and was well known for playing gay characters, though he vehemently denied being gay himself and refused to discuss his private life in public. It was the persistent rumors that ended up driving him over the edge. May he rest in peace.
