Light from satellites is being refracted (although in a continuous fashion) by the increasing density of the earth's atmosphere. However, the effect isn't as dramatic as in the case of stars, because the true direction is still pretty close, because the satellite is closer to the earth. Size of atmosphere is greatly exaggerated!
