Kathryn C. Thornton lifts the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR) on STS-61 prior to its installation in the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Thornton is anchored to a foot restraint on the end of the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) arm. Crewmate Thomas D. Akers, assisting in the COSTAR installation, is at the lower left.
