(original description) The 5.56 M855A1 Enhanced Performance Round, shown here, is sometimes called a "green round" due to its copper-only core. It has proven more effective against hard targets than the 5.56 M855 round it is designed to replace. The new round is equal to the M855 round against soft targets in effectiveness but is more consistent in its performance.
