Chevrolet introduced a new body in 1949, a softer, rounded look, It was again available in either a trunk back body style Styleline; in 2 or 4 door sedan, convertible, wagon and delivery. Also available was the fast back body style Fleetline; in 2 or 4 door sedan. The Special was the base model and Deluxe the upmarket model, the Deluxe got Stainless Steel trim around windows, beltline mould and rear fender skirts.1950 also saw the introduction of the top of the line Bel Air, only available as a 2 door Hardtop. 1950, 51 and 52 saw minor facelifts mainly to the grille. The 1952 grille now getting a row of teeth along the bar. Chevrolet sedans were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
