Chevrolet introduced a new body in 1949, a softer, rounded look, It was again available in either a trunk back body style Styleline; in 2 or 4 door sedan, convertible, wagon and delivery. Also available was the fast back body style Fleetline; in 2 or 4 door sedan. The Special was the base model and Deluxe the upmarket model, the Deluxe got Stainless Steel trim around windows, beltline mould and rear fender skirts. 1950 saw a minor facelift.1950 also saw the introduction of the top of the line Bel Air, only available as a 2 door Hardtop. The second facelift, 1951 got a new grille too, it got fine horizontal bars and round indicators changed to oblong and dropped down lower Chevrolet sedans were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
