Lonely at Nerǎu? Not exactly the hot spot of Romania especially on a wet October morning!

Photographed from a very overgrown platform at a particularly run down, unstaffed branch line terminus of Nerǎu. Having run round, 80.0490 is being coupled up to the stock to form train P2664,10:45 Nerǎu to Timişoara Nord on 11 October 2007.

Close to the Serbian border, the train up the branch was visited by the local police, whether they were bored or not, it was decided to give my passport a thorough check. As often is the case one or two foreigners travelling along a line which basically leads to a village where there is no tourist appeal is the centre of attention.
