Die Grumman F-14 Tomcat ist ein überschallschnelles, zweistrahliges, mit Schwenkflügeln ausgestattetes zweisitziges Kampfflugzeug, das für die United States Navy entwickelt und ab 1974 eingesetzt wurde. Ihre primären Aufgaben bei der US Navy waren die eines Luftüberlegenheitsjägers, Aufklärers und die Flottenverteidigung. Später wurden noch rudimentäre Luft-Boden-Fähigkeiten eingerüstet.
