Die USS Pennsylvania (SSBN-735) ist ein Atom-U-Boot der United States Navy und gehört der Ohio-Klasse an. Als Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear führt sie 24 Interkontinentalraketen mit.
Geschichte
Der Bauauftrag wurde an die Electric Boat der General Dynamics Corporation in Groton, Connecticut, vergeben. Die Kiellegung erfolgte am 10. Januar 1984. Am 23. April 1988 fand der Stapellauf statt, Taufpatin war Mrs. Marilyn Garrett. Das Schiff wurde am 9. September 1989 mit Captain Richard M. Camp als Kommandant der Blue Crew sowie Captain A. Lee Edwards als Kommandant der Gold Crew in Dienst gestellt.
Am 29. September 1989 lief die Pennsylvania beim Einlaufen in Port Canaveral, Florida, auf Grund. Schlepper machten das Boot allerdings innerhalb von zwei Stunden wieder flott.

- In Tom Clancy's Roman Ehrenschuld ist die Pennsylvania eines der U-Boote, die der japanischen Invasion der Marianen entgegengesandt wurden.

Naval jack of the United States from September 11, 2002 to June 4, 2019; designed in the late 19th century. The flag consists of a rattlesnake superimposed across 13 alternating red and white stripes with the motto, "Don't Tread On Me" (without apostrophe).
First Navy Jack of the United States as (supposedly) used by the Continental Navy from October 13, 1775 through December 31, 1776. In 1980, the Secretary of the Navy directed the commissioned ship in active status having the longest total period in active status to display the rattlesnake jack in place of the union jack until decommissioned or transferred to inactive status. Since September 11, 2002, the flag has been flown by the United States Navy for the duration of the "Global War on Terrorism."
