USENIX, The Advanced Computing Systems Association, ist eine Vereinigung von Betriebssystem-Entwicklern, Forschern und Benutzern in Berkeley. Diese wurde 1975 gegründet und förderte am Anfang vor allem die Weiterentwicklung von Unix. Bekannt ist USENIX vor allem als Veranstalter von Konferenzen. Von 1990 bis 1992 sowie von 2002 bis 2003 war Marshall Kirk McKusick Präsident dieses Interessensverbandes. Seit dem 1. Juni 2006 ist Mike Jones Vorsitzender.
