Die Linie B ist eine Linie der New York City Subway und fährt von 145 Street in Harlem über die IND Eighth Avenue Line, IND Sixth Avenue Line und BMT Brighton Line nach Brighton Beach auf Coney Island. Da sie auf der Stammstrecke unter der Avenue of the Americas („6th Av.“) verkehrt, ist die Linienkennfarbe Orange.
Die Linie B verkehrt die von Midtown Manhattan bis Coney Island als Expresszug, der nur an ausgewählten Stationen hält. Nördlich davon hält sie an allen Station der Strecke. Sie teilt den Großteil ihrer Strecke mit der Linie D, die auch auf dem nördlichen Abschnitt als Express verkehrt. In Brooklyn teilt sie sich die Strecke mit der Linie Q, die hier an allen Stationen hält.
Züge der Linie B verkehren nur tagsüber an Werktagen, da auch am Wochenende und nachts alle Stationen durch andere Linien bedient werden. Zur Hauptverkehrszeit verkehren die Züge weiter in Richtung Norden über die IND Concourse Line bis Bedford Park Boulevard in der Bronx, diese Züge sind durch eine Rautensymbol 
gekennzeichnet.
