Die Linie 6 ist eine U-Bahn-Linie der New York City Subway. Sie führt von Pelham Bay Park in Pelham Bay über die IRT Pelham Line und IRT Lexington Avenue Line nach Brooklyn BridgeCity Hall.

Da sie in Manhattan auf der Stammstrecke unter der Lexington Avenue verkehrt, trägt sie die Linienkennfarbe Dunkelgrün. Sie hält an allen Stationen (local) der IRT Lexington Avenue Line und wird daher auch als Lexington Avenue Local bezeichnet. In der Bronx hält sie an allen Station (local) der IRT Pelham Line und heißt daher Pelham Local.

In der Bronx endet die Linie 6 in der Hauptverkehrszeit morgens und nachmittags vorzeitig in der Station Parkchester. Nur die mit dem Rautensymbol gekennzeichnete Expresslinie <6> Pelham Express bedient zu diesen Tageszeiten die komplette Strecke bis Pelham Bay Park.

Die Züge des <6> Pelham Express fahren im Berufsverkehr in der jeweiligen Hauptverkehrsrichtung, also morgens in Richtung Manhattan und nachmittags in Richtung Pelham Bay. Sie halten dabei im südlichen Teil der Bronx nur an ausgewählten Stationen der Strecke. In Manhattan halten auch die Expresszüge als Lexington Avenue Local an allen Stationen.

Jennifer Lopez benannte ihr Debütalbum On the 6 nach dieser U-Bahn-Linie.
