Die Linie 3 bzw. Seventh Avenue Express ist eine U-Bahn-Linie der New York City Subway. Das Zeichen ist in den Stationen und auf dem offiziellen U-Bahn-Plan Rot, da sie durch Manhattan die IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line benutzt.
Die Züge verkehren rund um die Uhr zwischen der 148th Street in Harlem und dem Times Square – 42nd Street in Manhattan. Tagsüber verkehrt sie weiter bis New Lots Avenue in East New York, nachts verkehrt dort die Linie 4.
Die Strecke verläuft – vorwiegend unterirdisch – in Manhattan über die IRT Lenox Avenue Line und die IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line und in Brooklyn auf der IRT Eastern Parkway Line und der IRT New Lots Line. In Brooklyn verlässt sie den Tunnel über eine Rampe und verläuft ab der Station Sutter Avenue – Rutland Road als Hochbahn. Auch der nördliche Endpunkt Harlem – 148th Street sowie der dort befindliche Abstellbahnhof Lenox Yard liegen oberirdisch.
Die Endstation Harlem – 148th Street hat einen Mittelbahnsteig an zwei Stumpfgleisen, parallel daneben liegt der Abstellbahnhof Lenox Yard. Hinter der Endhaltestelle New Lots Avenue führen die Gleise weiter zum Betriebshof Livonia Yard. Befahren wird die Linie 3 von 155,6 m langen 10-Wagen-Zügen der Bauart R62, die – mit einer Ausnahme – ausschließlich dort verkehren.
