Tuesday Weld
Tuesday Weld (* 27. August 1943 als Susan Ker Weld in New York) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.
Leben und Wirken
Weld begann ihre Filmkarriere mit einigen Teenie-Filmen Ende der 1950er- und Anfang der 1960er-Jahre. Bereits 1960 gewann sie für ihre dritte Filmrolle in dem Musikfilm Fünf Pennies den Golden Globe Award in der Kategorie Beste Nachwuchsdarstellerin, im Verlaufe der Dekade erhielt sie zunehmend schauspielerisch anspruchsvollere Rollen. Zu den bekanntesten Filmen, bei denen sie mitwirkte, zählt Es war einmal in Amerika (1984), in dem sie die Geliebte von James Woods verkörperte.
In den 1960er Jahren machte sie als Geliebte ihres damaligen Filmpartners Elvis Presley Schlagzeilen, als dieser bereits offiziell mit Priscilla zusammen war.[1][2] Weld war von 1965 bis 1971 mit dem Schriftsteller Claude Harz, von 1975 bis 1980 mit dem Schauspieler Dudley Moore und von 1985 bis 1998 mit dem Violinisten Pinchas Zukerman verheiratet. Aus der ersten Ehe ging eine Tochter, aus der zweiten ein Sohn hervor.[3]
