Sintang ist ein indonesischer Regierungsbezirk (Kabupaten) in der indonesischen Provinz Kalimantan Barat. Stand 2020 leben hier circa 415.000 Menschen.[1] Der Regierungssitz des Kabupaten Sintang ist der gleichnamige Ort Sintang.
Geographie
Sintang liegt im Nordosten von Kalimantan Barat im Binnenland. Es grenzt im Norden an Malaysia und im Osten an den Regierungsbezirk Kapas Hulu. Im Süden grenzt Sintang an die Provinz Kalimantan Tengah und den Regierungsbezirk Melawi. Im Westen grenzt es an die Kabupaten Sekadau und Sanggau. Administrativ unterteilt sich Sintang in 14 Distrikte (Kecamatan) mit 406 Dörfern, davon 390 Desa und 16 Kelurahan.
Einwohner
2020 lebten in Sintang 415.534 Menschen. Die Bevölkerungsdichte beträgt 19 Personen pro Quadratkilometer. 39,0 Prozent der Einwohner sind Muslime, 36,5 Prozent Katholiken, 23,9 Prozent Protestanten und 0,5 Prozent Buddhisten. Daneben gibt es noch Minderheiten von Hindus und Konfuzianern[1]

The green shield contain the image of hexagonal dayak shield, mandau dayak blade, kris. The line across the center, flame, rice and cotton ears. Shield, mandau and kris symbolize the culture of main ethnicity in West Kalimantan; Dayak and Malay. The flame symbolize the everlasting fighting spirit. Rice and cotton symbolize prosperity.
