Die FIA-Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft 1989 wurde am 6. Januar in Schweden gestartet und endete am 23. November in Großbritannien. Insgesamt wurden 13 Weltmeisterschaftsläufe auf vier Kontinenten gefahren. Der Italiener Miki Biasion gewann den zweiten Weltmeistertitel.
