Titelverteidigerinnen waren Li Ting und Sun Tiantian. Das Finale bestritten Serena und Venus Williams gegen Anabel Medina Garrigues und Virginia Ruano Pascual, das die Williams in zwei Sätzen gewannen. Im Spiel um die Bronzemedaille gewannen Yan Zi und Zheng Jie in zwei Sätzen gegen Aljona und Kateryna Bondarenko.
