Panama nahm 2008 zum 15. Mal an Olympischen Sommerspielen teil. Die Teilnahme war lange gefährdet, da eine vorübergehende Suspendierung des Nationalen Olympischen Komitees erst im April 2008 aufgehoben wurde[1].
