Die NHL-Saison 1941/42 war die 25. Spielzeit in der National Hockey League. Sieben Teams spielten jeweils 48 Spiele. Den Stanley Cup gewannen die Toronto Maple Leafs nach einem 4:3-Erfolg in der Finalserie gegen die Detroit Red Wings. Die Wings hatten in der Finalserie bereits 0:3 geführt. Der Zweite Weltkrieg ging auch an der NHL keineswegs spurlos vorbei. Torontos Manager Conn Smythe meldete sich zum Kriegsdienst. Zahlreiche Spieler, unter ihnen Bostons „Kraut Line“ folgten seinem Ruf.
