NGC 7491 ist eine Spiralgalaxie mit ausgedehnten Sternentstehungsgebieten vom Hubble-Typ Sbc im Sternbild Wassermann auf der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 283 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 80.000 Lichtjahren.

Das Objekt wurde am 21. August 1881 von Edouard Stephan entdeckt.[3]
