Die Mittelmeerspiele 2022 (offiziell: XIX. Mittelmeerspiele) fanden vom 25. Juni bis 6. Juli 2022 in der algerischen Stadt Oran statt.
Die Kandidatur Orans setzte sich gegen die Bewerbung aus Sfax (Tunesien) durch.[1] Ursprünglich sollten die Spiele vom 25. Juni bis 5. Juli 2021 ausgetragen werden, wurden dann aber aufgrund der COVID-19-Pandemie um ein Jahr verschoben.[2]
Teilnehmende Nationen
Offiziell nahmen 26 Nationen an den Spielen teil. Im Halbmarathon der Frauen startete außer Konkurrenz darüber hinaus auch eine Starterin aus Vatikanstadt, womit der Kirchenstaat, dessen Sportlerin einer Einladung der Veranstalter folgte, erstmals in seiner Geschichte an einem Sportgroßereignis teilnahm.[3] Die Anzahl der Teilnehmer ist in Klammern angegeben.
