  1. a b Am 26. Oktober 2018 wurde Wickremesinghe durch Präsident Maithripala Sirisena entlassen, und dieser ernannte Mahinda Rajapaksa zum neuen Premierminister. Dies wurde durch das Oberste Gericht Sri Lankas als verfassungswidrig beurteilt und am 16. Dezember 2018 wurde Wickremasinghe auch offiziell wieder Premierminister.
