State Savings Loan and Trust on NRHP since March 23, 1979. At 428 Maine St., Quincy, Illinois. Also within the Downtown Quincy Historic District.
Woodland Cemetery on NRHP since March 1, 2002. At 1020 S. Fifth St., Quincy, Illinois. Cemetery and the town were founded by John Wood, whose grave appears at the right of the photo. Both were founded on hills overlooking the Mississippi River (center left of photo). Information signs at the cemetery state that the cemetery is unusual in that the land was left unlandscaped in its "wild" state - I think the photo illustrates this fairly well.
House in Quincy East End Historic District. This particular house is within a 2 minute walk of S. 16th and Jersey St. Brass plate near doorway says 1887 - but that might mean it was built in 1887 - or that it is 1887 Jersey Street!

Said to have been the official Governor's Mansion of Illinois during the 10 month Wood was governor, but I can't verify that. Now home to Quincy Historical Society

The Historic District is roughly bounded by 6th, 12th, Washington, Jersey and York Sts.; with a boundary increase of April 20, 1995 to being roughly bounded by Jefferson, S. 12th, Jackson and S. 5th Sts. These buildings are within a block of the HD center.
Richard F. Newcomb House on NRHP since June 3, 1982. At 1601 Maine St., Quincy, Illinois. The most impressive of a whole row of impressive houses along Maine Street. Now a museum.
Tablet of Lincoln Douglas Debate in Quincy, Illinois in Washington Park (site of debate) in downtown Quincy. Tablet is by the sculptor Lorado Taft, and this is the last commission that he executed before his death in 1936. Washington Park is the focus of downtown Quincy which is on the NRHP as Downtown Quincy Historic District (since April 7, 1983). The historic district is roughly bounded by Hampshire, Jersey, 4th and 8th Sts.
