Larry R. Squire

Larry Ryan Squire (* 4. Mai 1941) ist ein US-amerikanischer Neurowissenschaftler.

Er ist Professor für Psychiatrie, Neurowissenschaften und Psychologie an der University of California, San Diego. Sein Hauptforschungsgebiet ist das Gedächtnis.

Nach dem Studium am Oberlin College und Promotion am Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), unter anderem bei Hans-Lukas Teuber, folgte ein Postdoc-Aufenthalt am Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Anschließend folgte seine Tätigkeit an der University of California, San Diego.

In den Jahren 1993 und 1994 war er Präsident der Society for Neuroscience. Squire ist seit 1993 Mitglied der National Academy of Sciences und seit 1996 Mitglied der American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Er ist Autor zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Publikationen. Sein h-Index (Stand 2025) beträgt 173 (laut Google Scholar).
