La Borinqueña ist die Nationalhymne des Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
(Text von Manuel Fernández Juncos, 1903)
- La tierra de Borinquén
- donde he nacido yo,
- es un jardín florido
- de mágico primor.
- donde he nacido yo,
- Un cielo siempre nítido
- le sirve de dosel
- y dan arrullos plácidos
- las olas a sus pies.
- le sirve de dosel
- Cuando a sus playas llegó Colón;
- Exclamó lleno de admiración;
- "Oh!, oh!, oh!, esta es la linda
- tierra que busco yo".
- Exclamó lleno de admiración;
- Es Borinquén la hija,
- la hija del mar y el sol,
- del mar y el sol,
- del mar y el sol,
- del mar y el sol,
- del mar y el sol.
- la hija del mar y el sol,

United States Navy Band - La Borinqueña.ogg
"La Borinqueña", the regional anthem of Puerto Rico, performed instrumentally by the United States Navy Band circa the mid-2000s. This is the officially-adopted version currently used today; it is an early 20th century arrangement done by Luis Miranda of the mid-19th century original. It notably differs from the latter in that it is played at a slower tempo.
