Die Staaten Katar und Osttimor unterhalten diplomatische Beziehungen.
Diplomatie
Die beiden Staaten haben keine Botschaft im anderen Land. Für Osttimor ist der Botschafter Katars im indonesischen Jakarta zuständig. Bereits 2013 hatte Katar eigentlich angekündigt, in Dili eine Botschaft eröffnen zu wollen.[1]
In Katar vertritt Osttimors Honorarkonsul in Beirut Joseph Issa das südostasiatische Land.[2]
Wirtschaft
Die Wirtschaft beider Länder ist von der Erdölförderung abhängig. Osttimor nutzt hier Wissen aus Katar. Katar ist an Investitionen in Osttimors Luftverkehr interessiert.[1]
Für 2018 gibt das Statistische Amt Osttimors keine Handelsbeziehungen zwischen Osttimor und Katar an.[3]
Einreisebestimmungen
Osttimoresen können ein eVisa für Katar erhalten.[4]

Bilateral Discussion on Air Service Agreement Between The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and The State of Qatar.
The first bilateral discussion was held in Dili, Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (T-L) between the Aeronautical Authorities of the Democratic Republic of T-L and the State of Qatar, on the dates of July 16-17 2019 to conclude the Air Services Agreement (ASA) and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This discussion from T-L sides leaded by Ambassador Isílio Coelho, the Director–general for Bilateral Affairs in Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Mr. Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, the Director of Air Transport Department in Qatar Airways.
Both delegations from T-L and Qatar have agreed to finalize the ASA and MoU based on the liberalized approach at the next meeting to be held in Doha, the State of Qatar at earliest convenience.
