James Blaylock

James Paul Blaylock (* 20. September 1950 in Long Beach, Kalifornien) ist ein US-amerikanischer SF- und Fantasyautor.[1] Zusammen mit Tim Powers schreibt er auch unter dem Pseudonym William Ashbless.[2]

Leben

Blaylock studierte Englisch an der California State University in Fullerton. Dort lernte er K. W. Jeter und Tim Powers kennen und knüpfte zusammen mit ihnen Kontakt zu dem SF-Autor Philip K. Dick. Es ergab sich eine rege Zusammenarbeit mit Powers, mit dem er mehrere Geschichten gemeinsam schrieb. Heute lebt Blaylock in Orange County, Kalifornien, und ist dort Direktor des Creative Writing Conservatory an der Orange County High School of the Arts, wo auch Tim Powers arbeitet.[1]

1986 und 1997 gewann er den World Fantasy Award in der Kategorie beste Kurzgeschichte.
