Giovanni Fonio (* 7. Mai 1998 in Novara) ist ein italienischer Tennisspieler.
Karriere
Fonio spielte bis 2011 auf der ITF Junior Tour. Dort konnte er mit Rang 138 seine höchste Notierung in der Jugend-Rangliste erreichen.
Bei den Profis spielte Fonio ab 2017 regelmäßig Turniere auf der ITF Future Tour. In diesem Jahr gewann er im Doppel seinen ersten Future-Titel. In Brescia, dem ersten Turnier der ATP Challenger Tour, das er spielte, konnte er sich sofort qualifizieren und die zweite Runde erreichen. 2019 gewann er im Doppel seinen zweiten Titel. Im Einzel dauerte es bis 2020, nachdem er schon etliche Finals erreichte hatte, bis der erste Titel gewonnen wurde; im Doppel kam der dritte Titel hinzu. Jeweils war er Ende 2020 in den Top 600 der Weltrangliste notiert.
Das Jahr 2021 nutzte Fonio im Einzel für zwei Titelgewinne auf der Future Tour, der größte Erfolg bei Challengers war der erste Einzug ins Halbfinale von Antalya. Ebenfalls in Antalya, aber eine Woche zuvor, gewann er mit Riccardo Bonadio seinen ersten Challenger-Titel im Doppel. 2022 verlief bis auf den vierten Future-Titel im Einzel ohne besondere Höhepunkte. Jeweils steht er auf seinem Karrierehoch in der Weltrangliste.

Chinese Taipei Olympic Flag. According to the official website of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, Blue Sky(circle) & White Sun(triangles) above the Olympic rings is neither the National Emblem of the Republic of China, nor the Party Emblem of Kuomintang (KMT), but a design in between, where the triangles do not extend to the edge of the blue circle, as registered at International Olympic Committee in 1981 and digitally rendered in 2013. Besides, the blue outline of the five-petaled plum blossom is broader than the red one. Moreover, the CMYK code of the blue one and the Blue Sky & White Sun is "C100-M100-Y0-K0", and different from the Olympic rings (C100-M25-Y0-K0). Note that it's the only version recognized by IOC.
