Empat Lawang ist ein indonesischer Regierungsbezirk (Kabupaten) in der indonesischen Provinz Sumatra Selatan. Stand 2020 leben hier circa 335.000 Menschen.[1] Der Regierungssitz des Kabupaten Empat Lawang ist Tebing Tinggi.

Der Regierungsbezirk liegt im Westen von Sumatra Selatan im Binnenland an der Grenze zur Provinz Bengkulu. Er grenzt an die Regierungsbezirke Musi Rawas, Lahat und die Stadt Pagar Alam. Administrativ unterteilt sich Empat Lawang in 10 Distrikte (Kecamatan) mit 156 Dörfern, davon 147 Desa und neun Kelurahan.
Einwohner
2020 lebten in Empat Lawang 334.809 Menschen. Die Bevölkerungsdichte beträgt 148 Personen pro Quadratkilometer. 99,9 Prozent der Einwohner sind Muslime, daneben gibt es noch vereinzelte kleine Minderheiten an Christen, Hindus und Buddhisten.[1]

The emblem of South Sumatra Province (Sumatera Selatan), Indonesia, with the motto "Bersatu Teguh" (united we strong). The emblem features the "limasan" roof typical of South Sumatra traditional house, with 17 pointy roof ornaments and 45 roof tiles to symbolize 17 August 1945, the independence day of Indonesia. In the circle in the center is the Ampera Bridge, the landmark of Palembang with Musi River and Mount Dempo, all are important landmark of South Sumatra. The center circle is adorned with golden padma (lotus) flower to symbolize South Sumatra Buddhist historical past as the capital of Srivijaya empire.
