Der Athletic Park war ein Rugby-Stadion in der neuseeländischen Hauptstadt Wellington, das hauptsächlich für Rugby-Union-Spiele verwendet wurde. Es befand sich im Stadtteil Newtown und war bekannt für seine steilen Stehplatztribünen, die den dort häufig auftretenden heftigen Windstößen ausgesetzt waren. Die Zuschauerkapazität betrug zuletzt rund 39.000. Die Anlage war einer der Austragungsorte der Rugby-Union-Weltmeisterschaft 1987.
Während der 1990er Jahre wurde das Stadion langsam dem Zerfall überlassen, da die Unterhaltungskosten immer weiter anstiegen und die Anlage den Ansprüchen des modernen Sports nicht mehr genügte. Das letzte Rugbyspiel, eine Begegnung zwischen Wellington und Otago, fand am 10. Oktober 1999 statt. Wenig später wurde das Stadion abgerissen; als Ersatz entstand das Wellington Regional Stadium. Auf dem ehemaligen Stadiongelände befindet sich heute eine Seniorensiedlung.

On 31 July 1971 the All Blacks matched off against the British Lions in their 3rd test of the series. The Lions went on to win the game, 13-3, and the whole series.

The National Publicity Studios was established in 1945, but its beginnings can be traced back to the establishment in 1924 of a Publicity Office - part of the Department of Internal Affairs. The emphasis of this Publicity Office was on films, photographs and booklets.
The purpose of the National Publicity Studios was to provide advice to government departments and state agencies on the provision of photographic, art, and display services and in particular to assist in the production of publicity material aimed at conveying a favourable image of New Zealand.
