John Jay McCloyJohn Jay McCloy war ein US-amerikanischer Jurist, Politiker und Bankier. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges war er Unterstaatssekretär im US-Kriegsministerium. Von 1947 bis 1949 war er Präsident der Weltbank. Als Hoher Kommissar der USA und somit deren höchster Vertreter in der neu gegründeten Bundesrepublik Deutschland war er von 1949 bis 1952 maßgeblich am politischen und wirtschaftlichen Wiederaufbau Nachkriegsdeutschlands beteiligt.
