Liste der National Historic Landmarks in Alaska

Die Liste der National Historic Landmarks in Alaska führt alle Objekte und Stätten im US-amerikanischen Bundesstaat Alaska auf, die vom Innenministerium der Vereinigten Staaten zur National Historic Landmark erklärt wurden. Im Rahmen dieses Programms werden Bauwerke, Ensembles und Objekte wegen ihrer besonderen nationalen Bedeutung unter Schutz gestellt.

Zwischen 1960 und 2005 wurde in Alaska 48 historischen Stätten der Status einer National Historic Landmark zuerkannt. Hierbei handelt es sich überwiegend um Fundplätze aus der Zeit der frühesten Besiedelung, russisches Kolonialerbe und Schauplätze des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Zwei weiteren Stätten wurde der Status inzwischen wieder aberkannt.

The south coast people living from the Aleutians to Prince William Sound, were skilled kayakers and sea hunters. Amalik Bay Archeological District is one of the landmarks associated with South Coast Sea Hunters.

The Anvil Creek Gold Discovery Site, one of the sites that composes the Cape Nome Mining District Discovery Sites, a National Historic Landmark. Located along Anvil Creek on the Seward Peninsula, the Anvil Creek Site lies near the city of Nome in the Nome Census Area of the U.S. state of Alaska. One of the destinations of a gold rush shortly before 1900. The Anvil Creek Site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 15 October 1966, and the Mining District as a whole was designated a National Historic Landmark on 2 June 1978.

The Russian-American Magazin, a National Historic Landmark located at the intersection of Main and Mission Streets in Kodiak, a city in the Kodiak Island Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. Built in 1793, the building was used by both Russian and American trading companies; today, it is a museum. It was designated a National Historic Landmark on 13 June 1962 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 15 October 1966.

Three of our Nationally designated landmarks date back beyond 10,000 years ago to the time of now-extinct Pleistocene animals like the mammoth and mastodon and to the early peoples of Alaska who hunted them. Dry Creek Archaeological Site is one of these landmarks.
